Saigon Salad?

Continuing the streak of posts dedicated searching out tantilizing southern greenery on a plate, today we're serving up some Goi Bo. Even Southern Vietnam's getting into the shredded papaya act. Oh so lovely.

One of the best places in town for Goi Bo is Quan An Nuoc Mia at 93 Cach Mang Thang Tam. Shredded green papaya with peanuts, tender dried beef, crispy rice crackers and basil lounge in an addictive syrupy sauce. Light, crunchy, chewy, sweet and cool. The type of flavor and texture contrast one comes to expect from Vietnamese fare at this point.

Quite possibly the perfect in-between-meals snack. 10.000 VND a plate. Available all day. Get yours...
