The now defunct Gourmet Magazine has an interesting, yet relatively unknown (compared to Bourdain, I guess) TV series called 'Diary of a Foodie'. This particular episode covers a bit about Việt Nam. Actually a pretty decent watch. Up until now on this blog it's been almost entirely food profiles, reviews and reactions, but I figure it's time to branch out a bit and touch on all things edible and satisfying. All in the name of globality.
So watch, drool, buy the plane ticket out.

All other episodes available to watch for free on Gourmet's website or via itunes podcasts.
Stay Gourmet.

LOVE the part about Tay Ninh rice paper and thit kho!
I'm new to your site but I'll be a frequent visitor. Thank you for the post! How do you know the spellings of Vietnamese dishes so well? (Your name isn't Vietnamese)
I've been watching this series, too. So beautifully done in the way it really introduces you to a new place and new tastes. I still do miss the magazine, though. There's just no substitute for that.
Flav- Well I live in Ho Chi Minh..and I like to grub! I've just picked up on the names after a while and now I'm pro..almost. ;)
Enjoyed watching the video. Brought back memories of our visit to Viet Nam last year. I printed out the recipe for the clay pot pork. I'm finally going to use some of the Vietnamese fish sauce that you brought.
Ciao
Boy did this bring back great memories! We just need to come back for another visit to enjoy the great food and delightful people of Vietnam.
